Project Information

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe (the “Tribe”) is in the process of taking bids for general contracting services, specifically to complete site construction for the replacement of its Morning Sun Apartment Units (the “Project”) to be completed by November 14, 2022.  Bids can be submitted starting Wednesday, June 29, 2022 until Friday, July 15, 2022 at close of business day (4:00 P.M.). Bid openings will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the FSST Tribal Office in Flandreau, South Dakota.

Project Description 
 
The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe is currently in the process of replacing its Morning Sun Court Apartment Complex to address the condemnation of the current living units and provide quality and affordable housing for FSST tribal members. FSST has contracted with Banner Associates, Inc., for oversight and management of the project. FSST has also contracted with Custom Touch Homes, Madison, SD, for the construction of the new buildings. Upon completion, the Morning Sun Apartment Complex will consist of four 4plex and two duplex living units, for a total of twenty new living units.  
 
Currently, one building has been demolished and the foundation for the first 4plex unit has been laid. FSST will be taking bids for the completion of the site construction for the Morning Sun Apartment Complex area, however the demolition, excavation, construction of the buildings, and laying of the foundation will not be included in the proposed scope of work.  
 
FSST is currently on a short schedule for the replacement of these units and would like to have the project completed by November 14, 2022.  
 
General Scope of Work 
 
The Project will require Contractor to oversee and complete the required site construction for the replacement of the Morning Sun Apartment units. The Contractor will not be responsible for the demolition of the buildings, the foundations of the buildings, or the construction of the buildings themselves.  
 
The proposed location will be within the boundaries of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Reservation, located within the city of Flandreau, South Dakota, SEC 28, T107N, R48W.
