What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
I believe everyone should go ski diving at least once in their life! I believe you learn more about yourself, test your limits, gain self-confidence, and see how far you’re willing to push in order to accomplish your dreams!
What makes a good life?
Taking care of yourself, balancing work and play, trying new things or gaining new experiences, helping those around you, and giving back to world.
Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
From an early age I was always asked, “Who do I want to be when I grow up?”. Well, while in high school I was not sure what I wanted to be, so I ended up trying a lot of different classes and did a lot of job shadowing. One day, my wood shop teacher suggested I take some AutoCAD classes, noticing how much I enjoyed the drawing up my creations in Cabinetry class. I took two basic AutoCAD classes, loved working with the programs, and thought to myself “I could do this every day.” My dad suggested I go to North Dakota State College of Science, then the rest just fell into place!
What small gesture from a stranger made a big impact on you?
While working for Starmark Cabinetry, a guy handed me a popsicle and I wanted to know what I could do to repay him. He said, “If you see someone struggling and if it is within your means, get up and help them even if it’s something small like this popsicle I have given to you.”
What's the last adventure you went on?
Scuba diving in Nassau Bahamas aboard the Blackbeard Morning Star Liveaboard. It was a lot like camping, just on the water. During our stay the crew would drop us at different locations throughout the day. Some highlights: the Blue Hole, Pig Island, current diving, and a shark feed. I have never been that close to a shark in my life, and I could not get enough. It was the most incredible experience!
