What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? I would expand my upland bird and waterfowl hunting interest and travel to other states to do that. I would like to experience Ruffed Grouse hunting in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin; I would like to go to Montana to hunt Sharptail Grouse and Hungarian Partridge; and of course more Duck and Pheasant Hunting in South Dakota.
What is something you can never seem to finish? Home Improvement projects. Seems I get one completed and there are three more that need to be done.
What is the best thing you got from your parents? A great family comes first, home and upbringing. I think you really have to have some of your own experiences and exposures to others' experiences to begin to fully appreciate how special that was. My parents also gave me a strong sense of "Very little is given to or owed to you, you have to earn your success and also to take care of family and others before looking toward your own 'wants'."
If you were given one thousand acres of land that you didn’t need to pay taxes on but couldn’t sell, what would you do with it? Develop an area for my wife to have her horses – a barn, a riding arena, and some pasture and hay ground. On the rest of the property, the largest area, develop and manage for wildlife habitat.
What chance encounter changed your life forever? At our 10-year high school reunion, I met my wife Carole.
