What do you find most rewarding about working with our clients? I think many of our clients are very knowledgeable in the industry and common sense-driven. They appreciate our expertise and will test it. I enjoy engaging with our clients in ways that will help improve their existing facilities or provide new buildings. I have a great feeling of satisfaction when we can assist in the process of making a new building a reality for our clients and knowing that this building will improve their workplace operations.
What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? One of my favorite shows is “Barnwood Builders.” I love how they salvage the centuries-old heavy timber structures and repurpose them; the entire process is amazing. That would be a dream hobby if I had the time and equipment to do it right.
What’s the last adventure you went on? Canoeing and portaging through the Boundary Waters along the Minnesota and Canadian border this past summer. I have taken my two sons on a 7–10 day trip multiple times now in this area. With over 1,200 lakes in this wilderness region, it is a unique experience each time. Being in such a remote area that requires a great deal of effort traversing deep into the region, leaving the general population and modern technology behind, has a relaxing calm about it. Experiencing the growth of my kids every two years on this trip has been awesome – work ethic, teamwork, navigation skills, and lots of card playing have all been part of the growth and bond we have gained through these trips. The scenery is pretty awesome too!
What movie always makes you laugh no matter how often you watch it? The movie ELF is celebrating 20 years. This movie makes me laugh/smile every time I come across it. Will Ferrell does an awesome job at capturing every scene with his humor.
