The City of Rapid City constructed a new drainage channel in an area of highly unstable soils. The existing channel was severely degraded and undersized. The purpose of the project was to reduce sediment transport (improving Storm Water Quality), reduce localized flooding to area businesses, and conveyance of storm water.
