Camelot Intermediate School

Location

Brookings, SD

Previous Next

Located adjacent to a city park on the south side of Brookings, the 92,000 sq. ft. Camelot Intermediate School addressed the district’s increasing student population. The intermediate school is intended to create a transition from the structured elementary learning environment to the more independent educational atmosphere of a middle school. By using extensive daylighting and a "pod"-oriented layout, the structure creates an environment truly conducive to learning. Construction on the facility began in March of 2008 and the new school opened its doors for the start of the school year on August 19, 2009. Four additional classrooms were added in 2014 to accommodate the growing student population.
